About the destination

The Dolomites are a mountain range located in northeastern Italy. They form part of the Southern Limestone Alps and extend from the River Adige in the west to the Piave Valley (Pieve di Cadore) in the east. The northern and southern borders are defined by the Puster Valley and the Sugana Valley (Italian: Valsugana). The Dolomites are nearly equally shared between the provinces of Belluno, South Tyrol and Trentino. Other mountain groups of similar geological structure are spread along the River Piave to the east – Dolomiti d'Oltrepiave; and far away over the Adige River to the west – Dolomiti di Brenta (Western Dolomites). A smaller group is called Piccole Dolomiti (Little Dolomites), located between the provinces of Trentino, Verona, and Vicenza (see map). The Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park and many other regional parks are located in the Dolomites. In August 2009, the Dolomites were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The hotel is situated in a quiet location, a 5-minute walk from the center of Moena. Our rooms, except for the single room, all enjoy balconies with exciting views of the Dolomites. A public ski bus departs in front of the Zirmes hotel for the ski slopes of Alpe Lusia, Passo San Pellegrino, 2 km and 10 km away respectively, and ski buses for the entire upper Fassa Valley. You can also take a bus to Trento and Bolzano train stations. Guests can relax on the sun terrace with panoramic views of the Dolomites. The on-site restaurant serves homemade specialties made from fresh, local produce. Hotel Zirmes has an adults-only spa with sauna, steam room and experience showers, Kneipp path, indoor relaxation pool with effervescence (not suitable for swimming), and outdoor hot tub, open summer and winter. There is also free storage for mountain bikes in summer and free storage for skis in winter.
